I clean my chrome masks in an O2 plasma after an acetone/IPA/water/IPA rinse.
Regarding mylar masks, I would use IPA (or even acetone) on a soft cleanroom
wipe to gently wipe off organic contaminants, followed by a blow dry with dry
N2.
