Comments from 2 of my friends:

"I think the problem is that the bios battery back up died. The battery is
designed for a 10 year life, and he lost the bios.

He might have more luck talking to Phoenix than Wyse."

++++
"While I'm digging around our junk piles (although I think I trashed
all the old stuff, too), you might suggest this fellow go here:

and query them."

Best of luck,

Subject: [mems-talk] Help needed for fixing STS 310PC PECVD system

Hi all,

The 286 computer came with our STS 310PC PECVD system just crushed.
Whenever I tried to boot the computer,
It gave the following message on the screen and then stuck there:

Phoenix 80286 BIOS Version 2.84
Copyright(c) 1985, 1986 Phoenix Technologies Ltd.

0640K Memory, 00384K Extended
Invalid configuration information - please run SETUP program

Strike the F1 key to continue

No boot device available - Press F1 to retry boot

I called the manufacturer of the computer, WYSE, but they won't support
this model any more. If you have the 5"
floppy disc containing SETUP.EXE program for BIOS setup, or if you have
any idea what the problem is, please
let me know. Your help will be appreciated.

FYI, the hard drive is Seagate Model ST-157A.
