It seems there are a number of list subscribers using broken
vacation autoresponders. Autoresponders should only respond to a
message that includes your e-mail address in a To: or Cc: header.
If set up this way, they will not respond to mailing list mail.
Unfortunately, there is a lot of broken mail software out there.

As a courtesy to other mems-talk subscribers, if your autoresponder
replies to this message I will disable your subscription. I will
send another message those people with instructions on how to
re-enable their subscription.

While on the subject of list etiquette, please be sure to trim the
amount of quoted text when responding to the list. Your message
will be sent to hundreds of people. Take a few more seconds to be
courteous. I would also complain about people "top-posting" replies
but that seems to be a lost cause.
