Dear MEMS Researchers,

We thank those who have endorsed and/or supported the effort to establish
a MEMS technical Division at ASME (American Society of Mechanical
Engineers) International. We are happy to report that ASME has approved
our petition and a MEMS sub-division has been established. Dr. A.P. Pisano
has been selected as the Chairman of the executive committee.

We would like to ask new and/or continue support from you such that the
sub-division can grow and become a division. At the same time, we also welcome
your inputs and participations for important tasks and committees in
the division. Especially, we hope people in industry can play a pivotal role
in the division. Please join us (if you did not sign our petition yet) by

ASME membership number (or pending):

In addition to support the IEEE/ASME joint Journal of Microelectromechanical
Systems at the ASME side, we will be looking for collaboration/endorsement/
sponsorship of other MEMS related conferences/workshops/symposium. We will
celebrate the establishment of this MEMS sub-division at the ASME IMECE
Conference (http://www-personal.engin.umich.edu/~lwlin/ASME/program.html).
You are all invited to come and join ASME (one year ASME membership for free
if you register to the IMECE98 conference).
