I can almost guarantee you that you don't need or don't want 2mm thick =
diamond for any real world application. The cost will be prohibitive and =
there are other ways of getting the desired effect of diamond. If you =
just need hardness, or hardness and smoothness then consider =
polycrystalline thick film diamond (I assume you've considered other =
materials almost as hard?). If you need diamond and need it 2mm thick =
for mounting, try a piece 0.5mm thick or less and attach it to =
something, perhaps braze it to a metal backplate and bring your cost =
down. And secondly, if you can bring the 70mm dimension down as well =
your cost gets a lot lower as well.=20
