Mohammad:

You can add directly contact elements to the structural model. You do
not have to do anything special. It may not be working, because the
contact elements are not defined correctly. I recommend debugging the
contact with a structural only model. If you can get the contact
working in a structural model, it should work in an
electrostatic-structural model.

Note: If you are using Release 10.0, I recommend using the Multi-Field
Solver (MFS) rather than ESSOLV.

Regards.

Subject: [mems-talk] Adding contact to structural-electrostatic
solverESSOLV in ANSYS

Hi,

I am modeling a MEMS capacitor with ANSYS V10 and I need to add
contact in my electrostatic-structural model (ESSOLV command). I tried
to add the command in structural file but it does not work!
Has anybody already solved such problem?
If you know how I can add contact in my electrostatic-structural
model, please help me!
