PDMS Solution phase surface modification

Hi all,

I'm trying to modify the surface of PDMS by using a wet chemistry approach
illustrated by Guodong Sui et al in Anal. Chem., 2006, 78 (15), 5543-5551.

In this approach a PDMS channel was flowed with an oxidizing acid solution
(H2O/H2O2/HCl, 5:1:1) to form silanol groups for subsequent attachment of
bioactive compounds.

I'tried to perform this process in various condition (time, temperature,
concentration) without any changes in the surface hydrophilicity and chemistry
(contact angle and ATR/FTIR).

Does anyone know a wet procedure to oxidize the PDMS surface or a reference
(papers, books) where is described the reaction involved in this process??

Thank you all, I'm looking for you kind reply.
