Jack,
Oh gosh! Not again!!!!

Given the catch-all MEMS interpretations most people use, how about the
bacterial cilium? That would make it about 3 billion years BJ ("Before Jmems").
Seriously though, these questions cause an absolute log-jam of email... can't
we save them for a get-together over beers at Hilton Head?
