Hello everybody !

Some weeks ago, I asked the following question:

>Does anyone of you know a supplier for a 3-dimensional physical model of a
silicon single crystal >having the different crystal planes marked, for
example by colours ?
>I am optimizing a crystal oriented wet etching process for silicon and
want to get quick impression of >the different facets that devellop in the
processes, especially if something goes wrong.


Some people asked me to forward informations. Here's what I received:

1.) It's very simple, but there is a PostScript file which prints a paper
model available from Dr. Pister at UCLA which you can print and fold
up. I got it several years ago. At that time it was available via
anonymous FTP from synergy.icsl.ucla.edu in pub/crystal.i

2.)  Are you looking for Pister's fold-up paper model of Si?  It's at:

        http://robotics.eecs.berkeley.edu/~pister/crystal.pdf
or:
        http://robotics.eecs.berkeley.edu/~pister/crystal.ps

If you want a balls-and-sticks model, you may have to build one yourself.

3.)  There is a paper SCS model available in
http://synergy.icsl.ucla.edu/pub/crystal.i  . It was done by Kris Pister.
