I couldn't disagree more. Using a newsgroup allows one to catch up on
discussions when one has time, without being forced to wade through many
irrelevant messages as one goes through one's email each day. With
newsgroup threading, it's a MORE EFFICIENT way of following subjects of
interest.

It's a question of "push" versus "pull" technology as they say. The ONLY
DISADVANTAGE of newsgroups is that you may miss things you want if you
don't read the group regularly.
