electro-chemical masking material??

Colleagues,
I am using an orthophosphoric / sulphuric acid mix to
electrochemically
etch stainless steel. I need to mask some areas, to prevent them from being
etched in the electrolyte; something which can be applied as a film (spin
coated, painted, dipped etc...), and allowed to "cure". The catch is
however.........I must be able to remove the masking material afterwards,
with a minimal of mechanical effort (i.e. dissolve it off, thermally remove
it, or peel it off...).
I have tried things such as various adhesives, bonding to glass slides,
candle wax, varnish, all of which either dissolved in the acid(!) or could
not be removed (easily!) afterwards. Maybe there is a commercially available
masking agent from the electropolishing industry available........the
important thing is that the masking material should make INTIMATE contact
with the work piece.

Looking forward to loads of creative ideas......

                                                                        Thanks!!
