Hi everyone,

I am a new Assistant Professor at the Bioengineering Dept. of the University
of Washington, in Seattle, and I just wanted to introduce my laboratory to
the MEMS community. We combine microfabrication technology with live cells
in culture to address central neurobiology questions. In particular, we are
developing microfluidic devices that will stimulate single cells or
subcellular areas of the membrane to study axon guidance and synaptic
development. We use state-of-the-art fluorescent/phase/time-lapse microscopy
to observe cells in real time, and we build our devices by soft lithography,
micromachining, and/or laser cutting. I even have a postdoctoral opening!
Please see website below for more information.
