I just returned from the MEMS Conference in Las Vegas where I talked to a
fellow from the ECE Dept. of Carnegie-Mellon Univ. in Pittsburgh, who is
doing rather interesting work on "speaklets". Maybe his work would interest
you. The paper title is "Digital sound reconstruction using arrays of
CMOS-MEMS microspeakers" and the first author's name is Brett M. Diamond.
You can find his email at the CMU web site. Do some library searching and
you will turn up more papers.
