  Regarding RF MEMS try the following books. Hector De Los Santos,
Introduction to Microelectromechanical (MEM) Microwave Systems, Artech
House. I recommend it as a starting point. There's also another book on this
topic which is not published yet, therefore I cannot really comment on it -
G. M. Rebeiz, RF MEMS : Theory, Design & Technology, Wiley.

  For news on RF MEMS try Wireless Europe (wireless.iop.org) and Microwave
Journal (www.mwjournal.com). They recently featured two reviews on this
subject - MEMS for RF/Microwave Wireless Applications - The Next Wave (Part
I and II), which can be downloaded from the Coventor website (technical
paper section, www.coventor.com/rf-mems). Many papers can be downloaded from
Clark Nguyen's page (www.eecs.umich.edu/~ctnguyen), also check the website
of his company Discera (www.discera.com). G. Rebeiz's webpage, has many
downloadable papers too (www.eecs.umich.edu/rebeiz/Current_Research.html).

  As a general reference to the field I can recommend : J. J. Yao, RF MEMS
from a Device Perspective, J. Micromech. Microeng. 10, 2000, R9 - R38 and C.
T.-C. Nguyen, Microelectromechanical Devices for Wireless Communication,
Proceedings of the IEEE MEMS Workshop 1998, Heidelberg, Germany, Jan 25 -
