Hello Umesh,
There is definitely a consensus within the MEMS community that MEMS design
requires specialized simulation methods. Much of this has to do with MEMS's
multi-physics nature as well as the lack of standardization of MEMS processes
compared with semiconductor processes.
If you are interested, we have some reports that I can share with you, which are
actual design studies. They begin with a MEMS concept, and after process,
device and package design, components are ready to be prototyped and
manufactured. The reports will give insight into MEMS-specific design issues
and manufacturing-related concerns, not really considered in semiconductor
fabrication.
Sincerely,
Vatsa

Hello Umesh,
I agree. Specialized environment is necessary which should be fully
integrated.
You can find our methodology at
http://www.coventor.com/coventorware/cadence.html.
If you want to know more, our distributor and I will be available.
Best Regards,
Hideyuki Maekoba
