you probably mean the potential at the metal (cathode)/liquid interface
during MEMS electroplating. There are two standard methods to measure the
overvoltage: by oscilloscope and by means of the Lugging capillary with the
reference electrode (the third electrode). Should you need to vary/study
and/or maintain the electroplating potential at a certain predetermined
level you will need the three electrode arrangements with the Luggin
